profine and ALUMAT-Frey are cooperating on barrier-free door threshold systems
In line with the trend towards barrier-free zero thresholds, profine Group, one of the leading system providers for PVC-U window profiles, and ALUMAT-Frey GmbH, a leading manufacturer of barrier-free door threshold systems with magnetic seals, have entered into a strategic partnership. The primary goal of this alliance is to provide profine customers with easy and direct access to ALUMAT products. At the same time, both companies are pursuing the mission of providing the barrier-free access solutions required in the coming years through level access solutions.
Not only in the public sector, but also in offices and in private homes, there is a growing trend towards barrier-free door threshold systems in which the threshold is level with the finished floor. This reduces the risk of tripping and makes it much safer for older or physically disabled people to use main or side entrance doors. At the same time, zero thresholds are a convenient solution that significantly improves the quality of life and living for all building users. However, this results in special requirements for sealing, especially with regard to wind and heavy rain.
Optimal programme for accessibility
profine already offers its own barrier-free door threshold system with PremiPlan Plus. Numerous profine customers are already successfully combining the ALUMAT magnetic zero threshold with profine window and door systems.
The barrier-free door threshold systems from the Bavaria-based company are in many cases certified by the German Passive House Institute and are characterised by movable magnetic seals that reliably and easily provide air-tight, sound-proof and driving rain-tight door thresholds. ALUMAT has continued to optimise this technology in recent years, so that they are now offering a fully developed system.
Everything from a single source
The collaboration between profine and ALUMAT will enable profine customers to purchase the appropriate combinations from a single source in the future, thus reducing their logistical effort.
Both companies have contributed their respective expertise to an optimally compiled programme of profine door systems and ALUMAT threshold systems – and the two partners will continue to jointly develop barrier-free door threshold systems in the future.
From now on, ALUMAT's barrier-free door threshold systems, which are matched to profine door systems, can be configured and ordered from profine.
The cooperation was officially sealed by the two partner companies on 8 February 2025.
