In 2014, our internal energy management was launched and has since been concerned with improving energy-related performance, i.e. energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption.

Our system aims to uncover and implement potential savings in the company. Thus, an energy assessment of all consumers and areas takes place every year.
We look at and evaluate the energy use, the influence on consumption that can be influenced by maintenance, as well as possible savings opportunities, and thus focus on specific measures.

In recent years, we have focused in particular on significant energy consumers and have been able to significantly improve electricity consumption per tonne produced in Pirmasens as well as in Berlin.

Last year, we began converting the lighting in our largest production hall to LED. With this measure alone, we can report a saving of over 500,000 kWh per year.

  • In 2015, this system was also implemented at the European locations.
  • We are currently actively operating an energy management system at our sites in Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia, Austria and Romania.
